Imagine being born without arms. No arms to wrap around someone,
no hands to experience touch, or to hold another hand with. Or what about
being born without legs? Having no ability to walk, run, or even stand on two
feet. Now put both of those scenarios together…no arms and no legs. What
would you do? How would that affect your everyday life?

Nick Vujicic:

He is born in December 4, 1982. He is a motivational speaker
and the director of Life Without Limbs, an organization for the
physically disabled. He regularly gives speeches across the world on
the subject of disability and hope.

“Next time you think life is Hard... Think again.”

Early Life:

The first –born child in his family, Nick was born with the rare
Tetra-Amelia disorder: limbless, missing both arms at shoulder
level, and having one small foot with two toes protruding from his
left thigh. Initially, his parents were devastated. Vujicic was otherwise
healthy.

Growing up:

His life was filled with difficulties and hardships. One was not
being able to attend a school because of his physical disability. Nick
was one of the first disabled students to be migrated to a school. He
learned to write using the two toes on his left “foot”, and a special
device that slid onto his big toe to grip. He also learned to use a
computer and type using the “heel and toe” method (as
demonstrated in his speeches).

He can also throw tennis balls and
answer the phone. He can also shave and get a glass of water.
As Nick grew up he learnt to deal with his disability and started
to be able to do more and more things on his own. He adopted to
his situation and found ways to accomplish tasks that most people
could only do by using their limbs, such as cleaning teeth, brushing
hair, typing on a computer, swimming, playing sports, and much
more. As time went by, Nick began to embrace his situation and
achieve greater things. In grade seven, Nick was elected captain of
his school and worked with the student council there on various
fundraising events for local charities and disability campaigns.
“I believe that if you have the desire and passion to do something,
and if it’s God’s will, you will achieve it in a good time.”

Career:

Nick graduated from college at the age of 21 with a double
major in Accounting and Financial Planning .He began his travels as
a motivational speaker, focusing on the topics that today’s teenagers
face. He also speaks in the corporate sector, although his aim is to
become an international speaker. He has spoken to over two million
people so far, in twelve countries on four continents (Africa, Asia,
Australia, and North America).
By the age of 25, Nike hoped to become financially
independent. He wishes to promote his words through television
shows such as “the Oprah Winfrey Show”, as well as by writing
books. His first book, planned for completion by the end of 2009, is
to be called “No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!”

“I have a passion for reaching out to youth and keep myself
available for whatever he leads, I follow”

What do people say about Nick?

“People say to me, ‘how can you smile?’” he says. “Then they
realize ‘there’s got to be something more to life than meets the eye if
a guy without arms and legs is living a fuller life than I am.’”
Nick shares with his audiences the importance of vision and
dreaming big. He challenges others to examine their perspective and
look beyond their circumstances. He shares his view of ceasing to
see obstacles as problems, but instead begin to see them as
opportunities to grow and reach out to others. He stresses the
importance of our attitude being the most powerful tool we have at
our disposal and illustrates how the choices we can make should
have profound effect on our lives and the lives of those around us.
Nick shows through his own life that the major keys n fulfilling our
biggest dreams are persistence and choosing to embrace failure as a
learning experience, rather than allowing the guilt and fear of failure
to paralyze us.
Many times, when Nick Vujicic is on the road in one of the
many countries he has visited, he speaks to people who are really
hurting and broken due to any number of circumstances become
overwhelming, and people often turn to things other than God to
fulfill their needs. Ending up in a place than doesn’t bring the rue
and lasting satisfaction they’re seeking.

Some opinions about Nick:

Some opinions saying that they learn many lessons from Nick, here
are some:

1- The First lesson that learned from Nick:
“We all have so much to be thankful for (arms and legs and
all that goes with them) but we have a lot we can learn and
take away from this incredible young man”.
2- The Second lesson that learned from Nick:
“I have seen Nick in the worst situations and he doesn’t
change. His smile doesn’t fade. ”
3- The Third lesson that learned from Nick:
“He doesn’t shrink from a challenge. He is ready to push
forward. Good luck trying to slow him down. He is a visionary
with passion and integrity.”
4- The Fourth lesson that learned from Nick:
“Something that stood out to me was his genuine passion for
people and how much he would love everyone in matter who
they were.”
5- The Fifth lesson that learned from Nick:
“Nick has been a massive influence in my life and his words
always speak to me when I am going through a rough time, or
when I feel like I am not good enough or can’t do something.”
6- The Sixth lesson that learned from Nick:
“He taught me that I could do anything I wanted to if I never
gave up and if I believed in myself and worked towards my
dreams.”
7- The Seventh lesson that learned from Nick:
“I am privileged to be working for Nick here at Attitude is
Attitude and sitting front line to see all the tens of thousands of
people’s lives he is touching all of over the world!”
8- The Eighth lesson that learned from Nick:
“Thank you so much Nick for the inspiration you have given
me, not only by your web site and your words, but also by your
courage and ability as a 12 year old boy who dared to fly without
limbs!”
9- The Ninth lesson that learned from Nick:
“I see that everyone does have a purpose in life, and that they
should respect themselves for who they are.”
10- The Tenth lesson that learned from Nick:
“You taught me how to turn my negatives into positives.”

Finally, I guess for me, that person has taught me not to give up
no matter what happen in your life, and whatever you will face
of circumstances. Don’t give up of being always a strong person.
